Chelsea have been linked with Fiorentina’s Federico Chiesa a few times recently, and while he might make for an interesting signing to strengthen the wings, price constraints surely have to be taken into consideration. The pandemic certainly hasn’t made any team richer, and Chelsea will need to be smart in order to navigate through the upcoming and unknown transfer (swaps and trades?) market.
However, smartness will not help the Blues in this case. As per Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Fiorentina have told Chelsea and all others that they’re willing to accept only cold hard cash for their star, and all swap deals — including the ones supposedly proposed by Juventus and Inter Milan — are off the table.
(Ed.note: so, they don’t want no swaps — a swap is a transfer that can get no love — even if they’re hanging out the passenger side of Fede Chiesa’s ride, trying to holler at us?)
On a slightly more positive note, Fiorentina are willing to offer a small discount on the asking price. The amount of the final asking price is still unclear, but it’s apparently going to be less than the initial €70m. Yay?
Mercato... "azzurro": #Tonali, l’Inter stringe. #Chiesa - Juve, Commisso fa muro. #Bernardeschi in Premier? https://t.co/irbL4ySlHq #serieA #premium
