A new competitor has entered the Kai Havertz arena, and to no one’s surprise, they’re called Real Madrid. Every great player in football will eventually get linked with the Galacticos, and Kai Havertz is pretty great indeed.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that this is just idle talk however. Real have been mentioned in connection with the 21-year-old wonderkid before though the claim that he “favours” a move to Madrid over all other options is a fairly new one.
This comes from the Times (by way of the Daily Mail), who also claim that in order for Chelsea to even consider acquiring Havertz, we’d need to secure some funding by selling a few players, including possibly N’Golo Kanté. The Kanté sales angle isn’t new either, and perhaps not coincidentally mirrors Madrid-sourced reports from last week of Chelsea being open to selling Kanté, who’s been on Real Madrid’s radar for a while.
Wheels within wheels!
One thing all reports agree on is that Chelsea aren’t done yet in the transfer market. Be that Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, or some other key player, we’re looking to reinforce the team with at least one more big signing. Decisions, decisions...
