Sevilla, RB Leipzig join Chelsea, PSG in the race for Alex Telles — report

With a low release clause of €40m, and an even lower potential asking price (€22-25m, reportedly), Alex Telles is set to be one of the most in-demand players in the next transfer window. Chelsea and PSG have been touted as two of the most interested parties, with the latter leading the charge. But more clubs have joined the fray now as per A Bola.

Sevilla are the most prominent name added, now with the added prospect of Champions League football next season. Additionally, with ex-Porto head coach Julen Lopetegui currently in charge in Andalusia, the team might have a slight advantage over others — though Lopetegui and Telles shared only 9 days on the books of Sevilla, with the former getting dismissed soon after the latter’s signing in 2016. Sevilla’s current left back, Sergio Reguilon could return to Real Madrid at the conclusion of his loan, which would make moving for Telles a logical choice.

The situation is similar at RB Leipzig, where on-loan Angeliño is expected to return to Manchester City, the report adds.

While PSG remain seemingly well ahead of everyone else, it’s still uncertain where Telles will Telles ultimately end up. His contract situation and desire to play in a different league will make him one of the best bargain buys of the next window however.
