According to a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano for Calciomercato, Chelsea loanee Tiémoué Bakayoko has not only Sevilla, but also his former loan-club AC Milan in mind as the next best place for him.
Bakayoko had done well this season on loan at AS Monaco, but it is unlikely that they will activate the €42m buy-option. Hence the ongoing search for a new team.
The report claims that Bakayoko has not forgotten his good memories of San Siro, even after his somewhat acrimonious exit at the end of that loan. While the events that led to his exit — mainly his clash with former Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso, and the ‘rebellious act’ that was a preview of things to come — still loom over his head, he is ready to let bygones be bygones if the club are willing to do so as well. He apparently has already apologised for his actions, and Gattuso’s long gone from San Siro anyway.
Once again, we shall see what will be Milan’s answer here. While Sevilla do not seem too keen on him, as they already got the midfielders they wanted, but Milan might be more keen. Given how Bakayoko has performed better on his loans (certainly than at Chelsea), this could be one possible solution.
