According to a report from Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoJuve), Chelsea veteran winger Pedro is now also a target of Serie A juggernauts Juventus.
Juventus join other Serie A teams, especially AS Roma, in potentially pursuing the serial winner, but various other teams around the world, from the United States to Qatar to Spain, are also watching with interest.
The 32-year-old will soon be out of contract with Chelsea: his current deal is set to expire on June 30. While it is likely that he will get a temporary extension to last until the end of the pandemic-delayed 2019-20 season, it does not look like Chelsea will be offering any further extensions to his stay at Stamford Bridge.
A few previous reports did make claims to the contrary, but Pedro’s apparently seeking a two-year deal and Chelsea will definitely not be accommodating that.
Hence the impending free agency, and hence the heavy interest from clubs in picking up Pedro for free this summer. He will be highly valuable signing especially for clubs whose bottoms lines were hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.
