FC Porto left-back Alex Telles will be playing for Paris Saint-Germain next season, according to a report from Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
The Ligue 1 champions have apparently closed the deal in the last few hours, having agreed a €25m fee for the 27-year-old — not quite as low as the €20m once rumored, but certainly not as high as the pre-pandemic price tag of €40m.
Since the Portuguese league are set to resume their season next week — while the French league has been cancelled — Telles will presumably only join once all the matches have been played, presumably sometime in July.
While none of this is official or announced yet, it’s the strongest indication that this latest chapter in the Telles saga is finally coming to an end.
Telles has been a Chelsea target for quite some time, ever since Ashley Cole left in 2014, but it looks like this oft-rumored transfer will once again not come to fruition.
Oh well. On to Ben Chilwell or whoever else for left back reinforcements!
