Despite the Fiorentina director’s claims that Premier League clubs are knocking on the door for Federico Chiesa’s signature, it’s starting to look increasingly like that the youngster will continue his journey in Serie A beyond this season — though maybe not at La Viola.
According to Tuttosport, Juventus have made inroads on a potential deal, all while trying to bring down the 22-year-old’s asking price. The Old Lady have apparently offered Rolando Mandragora and Cristian Romero as makeweights in a player exchange deal. The latter is on loan at Genoa while the former was sold to Udinese but with a buy-back clause. Juve are aware of Fiorentina’s interest in both the players and are hoping that they take the bite.

However, in order to be not left behind, Inter Milan, too, have offered a similar deal as well. Another one of Tuttosport’s reports claims is that Inter are willing to let Dalbert, Roberto Gagliardini and/or Radja Nainggolan go the other way if it means that they can get their hands on one of Italy’s brightest prospects. Of course, Inter might be able to offer cash straight up as well if Barca’s planned move for Lautaro Martinez goes through, so it appears that the Nerazzurri have an advantage.
Fiorentina’s hierarchy are seemingly willing to let Chiesa go to the club of his choice — as long as both the offers are of similar value — so in the end, the decision may come down to the player’s personal desires.
As for Chelsea, it never looked like the rumors had any substance behind them in the first place and in all likelihood, the Blues have other targets in mind.
