Chelsea may not have any football to play, but we certainly have plenty of left back rumors to deal with.
The latest comes from PSG site Paris United (ed.note: still riding their reputation gains from calling the Neymar transfer correctly), who are claiming that the Les Parisiens are also interested in signing Alex Telles. Layvin Kurzawa’s departure will open up a LB spot on the roster and PSG are hoping to bring in the 27-year-old to compete with Juan Bernat.
Unfortunately for them, Telles’ newly appointed agent, Pini Zahavi is apparently already in “advanced discussions” with Chelsea, which should compel PSG to start looking at alternative targets, such as Alex Sandro. There’s a belief that because of the economic impact of COVID-19, Juventus will need to sell some, and PSG could move for Alex Sandro if he were to become available.
Portugal’s A Bola (via Sport Witness), who have regularly reported on the Telles-to-Chelsea saga, are claiming that the Blues have given up on signing Ben Chilwell due to Leicester City’s €90 million asking price and will instead focus all their energy on signing Telles who could be available for one-third of that, at €30 million. It’s also claimed that Chelsea made a €20m bid for Telles in January 2018, but the player himself rejected the offer as he wanted to win something with Porto and we ended up purchasing Emerson Palmieri.
