While it is widely rumored that Chelsea are one of the frontrunners for Alex Telles’ signature, we are not alone. PSG are reported to have a strong interest in the left back as well. In fact, just some time ago, it was reported that the Parisians were already close to completing a deal, a story that was later refuted, but nevertheless, they’re are certainly attempting to sign a replacement for the certain-to-depart Layvin Kurzawa.
According to a report by A Bola, PSG are now actually ready to make an official offer for Alex Telles. PSG’s first-choice target is Marcelo of Real Madrid, but the 31 year-old is reluctant to leave, which has compelled Le Parisiens to look at the 27-year-old Telles.
The report states that PSG will make a bid of €22 million, and while that is a substantially low offer for a player of his caliber, the current football market is going through an unusual, unforeseen and unfortunate situation, and Porto might be compelled to sell the player for that price — even though they rejected a 25 million euro bid from Juventus in January — seeing that his contract expires in 2021.
Alex Telles could prove to be a bargain deal, and looking at the current state of the economy, Chelsea would be wise to make their own move for the player if they actually do have an interest.
