Porto left back and presumed Chelsea target Alex Telles has made a significant change in career management. According to Portuguese newspaper Record (via Sport Witness), he has switched representation, hiring the services of a certain Pini Zahavi after previously being represented by his family.
Zahavi is one of several “superagents” operating in the game today, and the name should be familiar to us by now. He’s been around some of the top clubs for at least the past two decades, including, most relevantly for us, during the first few years of the Roman Era. He was a major force in Abramovich’s decision and acquisition of Chelsea in 2003, and subsequently helped build one of the strongest teams in club football history.
Given Telles’ reported intentions to leave Porto after four seasons at the club, it would certainly make plenty of sense to get himself onto Zahavi’s list. After so many years of rumours linking him with Chelsea, could that move finally come to fruition?
