Willian’s Chelsea contract expires in just a few short months, and since the club are unwilling to meet his demands of a three-year extension, his time at the Stamford Bridge looks to be ending. (Let’s see a few more farewell goals like today please!)
While the official line from Willian’s camp is that there’s nothing concluded with any team and he’s considering any and all offers on the table, ESPN Brasil journalist João Castelo-Branco stirred up some Twitter chatter today by taking the red match-day outfits of Willian’s family as some sort of a subtle hint.
WILLIAN TO ARSENAL?

His wife just dropped a massive hint! Family going Chelsea wearing red: “going to game, not been easy, days are numbered... but god is marvellous, good things on the way...” asks daughter if she likes London. “Love London? Yes” #PremierLeagueNaESPN pic.twitter.com/ONlV8Ldd4X
Castelo-Branco later adds to his tabloid journalism by acknowledging that this isn’t the first time Willian’s family has worn red for a Chelsea match, and then speculating about Spurs, too.
Surprised that he didn’t bring up the part where Willian’s daughters were once (jokingly) blamed for Willian’s Instagram nonsense of covering up Conte in the FA Cup trophy-celebration picture.
Journalism!
Incredibly I hear that it’s not the first time that the family wear red to a match at Chelsea, so could it be that the colour is less relevant than I interpreted, and it could be Tottenham?! There’s a long dated love affair between Mourinho x Willian. Just putting it out there!

Arsenal are just one of several big name teams around Europe, including PSG, Juventus, and Manchester United, who have been linked with Willian as he tries to figure out his next move. One thing that the Gunners do have going for them is that they are in London, and the one thing that’s been quite clear from the beginning is that Willian, like David Luiz, wants to stay in the city.
