It’s beginning to look a lot like Chelsea’s desire to buy Jadon Sancho is going to go the same way as our desires to buy the likes of Edinson Cavani, Luka Modrić, Paul Pogba, and Robert Lewandowski.
That is to say, it’s not going to happen.
According to transfer oracle Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have been working behind the scenes for the last to months in order to get Jadon Sancho, and they’re quite confident in their ability to do so.
Here is the video of Romano stating the same on his Instagram account.
Chelsea’s chances and even desire to pursue Sancho surely took a hit with the confirmed transfer of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax, though at the time of that announcement, there were still rumblings that Chelsea may chase Sancho as we were looking likely to be letting go both Willian and Pedro at the end of the season. And while that may still be true, Sancho looks much more likely to end up in Manchester (albeit wearing red) than London.
Of course, nothing’s ever certain in football, especially the transfer market, and there’s still a chance that Sancho, like Willian back in 2013, will see the light, but our chances of getting the boy who’s celebrating his 20th birthday today, are looking less and less likely.
