Davide Zappacosta is ready for action. Unfortunately, the (football) world isn’t. And so, he sits at home and trains, plays on his Playstation and goes for runs. Not much else he (or we) can do.
But he wants to be ready for whenever football starts up again, be that this season (May? June?) or next season (September?). He had been out since the autumn with a torn ACL and is surely itching to get back it.
Adding further unknowns for Zappacosta is his contract situation, but while he’s waiting patiently, there is some progress in that regard. According to Rome-based Corriere della Sera, Chelsea and AS Roma are “already working” on the new loan deal that’s been progressively rumored over the past few weeks.
Despite (or perhaps precisely because of) hardly playing at all this season — just 12 minutes of action in total — the 27-year-old is getting another chance from the Giallorossi to show what he’s got, and maybe even earn himself a permanent move in the process.
But for now, we wait.
