This one’s an exclusive from the Mirror, which may need plenty of grains of salt to take in, but in these coronavirus times everything seem a bit more palatable. A hungry man will eat anything, after all.
In any case, the Mirror’s story is that no fewer than four teams have met Birmingham City’s valuation for Jude Bellingham, the 16-year-old sensation who’s been a key part of the Blues midfield all season and has been on the radar of most teams up and down the country and reportedly Europe as well. Those four include Manchester United (who recently had the kid in for a training ground visit), Chelsea (who have been tracking the kid for some time), plus Bundesliga duo Bayern Munich, and Borussia Dortmund, who supposedly had an agreement in place that turned out to be not true (yet).
Bellingham has been so impressive that his valuation was rumored to be around £50m, but if the Mirror’s story is true, it’s more like £15m (with bonuses potentially doubling that fee), which would certainly be much more reasonable. Given that number and the interest in him, the ball’s certainly in Bellingham’s court when it comes to choosing his team for next season. (Birmingham City are apparently expecting and resigned to him to leave this summer.)
Choose wisely!
