Borussia Dortmund are preparing themselves for life without in-demand Jadon Sancho, but not without first ensuring that they receive proper compensation in return. According to Sky Sports, that will mean “at least” a £100m transfer fee for the 19-year-old winger.
Manchester United and Chelsea appear to be the two front-runners for Sancho, who was a Manchester City youth player before heading to Germany in 2017. City apparently did add an option to match any future bids accepted by BVB, but they are reportedly not too keen on doing so at the moment.
While that may change by the end of the season — City could look to reload and restock their squad, especially if Leroy Sané leaves — the most likely destination at the moment for Sancho appears to be Manchester United. Chelsea’s impending acquisition of Hakim Ziyech will have helped that notion along as well, even though they could just as happily coexist at the club. (Ed.note: that said, having all four of Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi, Ziyech, and Sancho seems more FIFA/FM than real life.)
Either way, £100m is what it will take, and these days, that’s not too outrageous.
