Thing have been tough for Emerson Palmieri as of late.
The player himself admitted a couple of weeks ago that he doesn’t feel too happy at Chelsea, especially compared to the feeling he gets while with the Italian national team. But Ben Chilwell quickly turning out to being one of the best decisions we have made this summer, there is little chance at the moment of Emerson’s situation improving at the club. The only way to get himself out of this pickle would be to leave, either on loan or something more definitive.
Emerson reportedly had a market for his services during the last transfer window, although nothing came to fruition. But according to Sky Sport Italia (via Calciomercato), his suitors, including Inter Milan, Juventus and Napoli, all remain interested. Those names should all sound familiar, for better or worse (i.e. will they actually make a move this time?).
Emerson will have to stick it out at Stamford Bridge for at least the next two months, and hope to pick up a few scraps while competing with Marcos Alonso for backup minutes. But once the winter transfer window is open in January, it is possible that he will be a priority for these three clubs.
Chelsea have seemingly locked in a left back for years to come, which should make Emerson’s exit manageable.
