The Callum Hudson-Odoi exit rumors haven’t gone away just because the 19-year-old has started two of the last three games (both in the League Cup) and made a highly impressive game-changing appearance in the second half of the 3-3 draw against West Brom, playing 225 of the last 270 minutes available to him.
And as 18 months ago, it’s the German media who are pushing this story.
Today’s edition of Bild teases a story that a potential transfer is “suddenly hot” again. As per Sport Witness, that player is of course Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Unsre Story: das wäre ein Transfer-Coup: Dieser Bayern-Transfer ist plötzlich wieder heiß https://t.co/u1rBULM1K7

The story claims that Bayern sporting direction Hasan Salihamidzic has been in contact with Hudson-Odoi’s brother and “advisors” all along, and now sees an opportunity to make this “absolute dream transfer” a reality. It’s such a dream, that he only wants a loan rather than an actual transfer, though he probably knows that Chelsea would have absolutely no interest in selling the Chelsea Academy winger.
As much as German media is pushing this story again, closer to home everyone agrees that Hudson-Odoi isn’t looking to leave and Lampard isn’t looking to sell, despite a less than categorical denial of this possibility the last time he was asked.
That said, we have four days left in the window, so there’s plenty of time for this story to take a few twists and turns. But given our injuries and our ambitions, not to mention the future, it would be foolish to let Hudson-Odoi go, even just temporarily.
