According to a report from The Athletic, Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is not interested in exiting Stamford Bridge this winter, despite a relative lack of opportunities granted to him thus far this season.
Under manager Frank Lampard, Michy has played 369 minutes first-team football across 18 matches. In this timeframe, he scored 5 goals and gave 2 assists — although he only has one goal and one assist in 12 Premier League matches (none of which as a starter).
Still, Michy does not want to leave Chelsea at the moment. Especially not for Aston Villa, who have recently lost striker Wesley to a season-ending knee injury, and are currently embroiled in a relegation battle.
Surely that could change if clubs who are not in a situation as difficult as Aston Villa’s come by. But at least for now, Michy is more than comfortable with staying put at Chelsea, working hard to get chances whenever the opportunity arises.
