Chelsea’s sixth new loan deal of the winter transfer window is in the books as of today, with 19-year-old George McEachran joining Dutch second division side SC Cambuur until the end of the season.
This is the first loan for George McEachran, who is the younger brother of former Chelsea youth standout and later Loan Army warrior Josh McEachran. (Josh, now 26, currently plays for Birmingham City.)

McEachran has yet to make his senior debut, though he did make the bench in two Europa League games last year, including in the last group match against Hungarian side Videoton (or whatever they’re called these days) and the final against Arsenal as well (which featured an expanded bench).
Like his brother, George is a midfielder, perhaps with an even greater potential to become a more well-rounded player than Josh managed. Cambuur will be looking to utilize his technical and physical skills as well, as their technical director explained.
“With George we’re getting someone with technique, a good understanding of the game and running ability. He links the play well and, with his qualities, is a welcome reinforcement.”

Cambuur are currently leading the Dutch Second Division, still one point ahead of Ajax B despite losing three of their last five games.
Good luck, George!
