Pedro’s Chelsea career is winding down, and the only question that remains is whether he leaves at the end of the season or this month already. While manager Frank Lampard wants to keep him as a contingency plan, Pedro’s hardly been involved — though he also doesn’t seem to be pushing for a move, judging by the lack of transfer rumors involving him (unlike, say, Olivier Giroud, who’s in a very similar situation).
The few rumors that have appeared linked the 32-year-old tenuously with a move to MLS or back to (lower league) Spain. Perhaps a better option could be Japan, with Goal reporting that Vissel Kobe are “targeting” the former Barcelona lucky charm with a “lucrative escape route”.
There are worse ways to be targeted, that’s for sure.
Vissel Kobe are the current (retirement) home of Andres Iniesta and the former retirement home of David Villa. Ex-Barcelona players Sergi Samper and Thomas Vermaelen also play there. It’s almost a mini Barcelona! Pedro would fit right in.
Something to consider then?
