Inter Milan’s interest in Victor Moses appears to have heated up again. The temperature continues to rise in fact, after a move AS Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola has fallen through. And while Ashley Young has been signed instead for the left flank, Moses is now being targeted to strengthen the opposite flank of Antonio Conte’s wing-back reliant system.
Inter’s interest in Moses is nothing new, and Gianluca Di Marzio, who started this story, claims that negotiations are now at an advanced (or at least advancing) stage. Sources closer to home have also confirmed Inter’s interest in the Chelsea loanee, who has failed to make an impact at Fenerbahce despite starting brightly. Moses has only made 7 appearances this season while struggling with a quad injury, providing a goal and an assist. Fenerbahce are apparently willing to cut short the loan and Chelsea wouldn’t be against a move to Inter either. We were reportedly demanding €10m, but now could be willing to let the 29-year-old move on loan. Moses would most likely love to reunite with Antonio Conte, who turned him into an important player at Chelsea.
In the meantime, and largely unsaid, the Spinazzola move falling through could yet prove a stumbling block for Olivier Giroud’s move to Inter, which was said to be dependent on Matteo Politano leaving. With the Politano-Spinazzola swap not taking place anymore, Inter do not readily have the funds to bring in Giroud.
Two weeks to go. Stay tuned!
