Earlier this week, we had rumours from France claiming Chelsea had made a €20 million bid for Metz striker Habib Diallo. And given the statistics, we could even see why that surprising move could be a somewhat reasonable one.
However, the prospect of moving to Chelsea may not be as big of a draw for Diallo as we might think. In a press conference, the 24-year-old told journalists that his hopes are to finish the season with the Ligue 1 outfit, instead of moving to Stamford Bridge or anywhere else.
“I’ve heard the rumours but I don’t have any other knowledge. For the moment, I am at Metz and I extended until 2022. I hope to finish the season here.”

It is not every day that you see players dismissing Chelsea. But when we consider how Diallo is an automatic first-choice for Metz, and how he wouldn’t be at Chelsea, at least not initially, his stance is completely understandable.
Oh well. Next!
