Willian was recently linked with Barcelona, again, rekindling a long-standing rumor, but the Spanish giants aren’t the only team potentially interested in the Chelsea winger, as reported by Tuttosport today (via Sport Witness).
As rumored about a month ago already, Juventus apparently continue to keep tabs on him as well, especially as there’s a decent chance he gets to move where he wants for free. Few big teams are as good as Juventus at picking up players for free, after all.
Willian’s current contract expires at the end of the season, and while both he and Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard have made noises about wanting to stay beyond then, so far no evident concrete steps have been taken. As things stand, Willian will be able to start talking to foreign teams in January, and arrange potential summer moves.
As one of the elder statesmen of the squad, Willian doesn’t quite fit the new youth-focused ethos at the club, though so far he’s continued to play a key role for Lampard, featuring in six of the nine games since recovering from a hamstring injury, and starting the last three Premier League games.
