After being linked with a move to Italian club Sassuolo last week, there are fresh rumours from Spain claiming that Getafe are also in the mix for the signature of Chelsea winger Kenedy.

The talks that originated from Cadena SER’s Spanish sports program, Carrusel Deportivo, has since been picked up by international sources.

Getafe were initially keen to take Jason, also known as David Remeseiro Salgueiro, on loan for the season from Valencia. But the report notes that there has since been some complications in the deal, despite Valencia and Getafe reaching a point of agreement over the terms of the loan. As a result, they have now turned to the 22 year-old Brazilian winger from Chelsea.

This would serve as a respite to Kenedy, as he gets to play in his preferred winger position that Getafe have a dearth of. There is no mention about the terms of the deal, but it would be logical to assume that the Brazilian will leave on a temporary deal (after signing a contract extension) rather than for a permanent stint.

With the European transfer window closing tomorrow, time is of the essence at the moment and all the concerned parties will need to work quickly for Kenedy to find a club and some much-needed game-time.
