Young Chelsea midfield Jacob Maddox has today joined Tranmere Rovers on loan for the season, upgrading alongside the team from League Two to League One. Maddox, 20, spent all of last season with Cheltenham Town in League Two, but now will try his luck with recently promoted Tranmere in League One.

At Cheltenham, Maddox failed to feature in just a handful of matches, though his rate of minutes did drop a little bit in the second-half of the season. He chipped in with a few goals in all competitions as well, though The Robins finished in mid-table of League Two.
Tranmere went up through the promotion playoffs and certainly will have their work cut out for them if they are stay up this season. Hopefully Maddox can help them achieve that goal, while continuing to work on developing his own skills and mindset to help him keep progressing up through the levels.
Good luck, Jacob!
