Tiémoué Bakayoko’s drawn-out move back to AS Monaco, two years after leaving the Principality, is finally set to happen, if AS Monaco Vice-president Oleg Petrov is to be believed.

At the presentation of Monaco’s two newest signings, Guillermo Maripan and Arthur Zagré, Petrov revealed that he expects Bakayoko to arrive as well, perhaps as early as tonight.

“We have been waiting for this arrival for a long time. We know him well. He is very strong and has great physical qualities. He knows the coach, the club and the championship, there will be no worries for his adaptation, nor surprise.”

The most recent rumors have this down as a season-long loan with a €35m option to purchase, which basically matches the deal Chelsea offered to AC Milan last season. Hopefully, for all parties involved, Bakayoko finds similar, if not even better success back at Monaco than he managed at Milan last season!
