Highly rated young Chelsea left back/winger Juan Familia Castillo is set to join Ajax Amsterdam on loan, reports De Telegraaf this morning, with Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars hoping to negotiate a buy-option as well.
The 19-year-old was linked with Juventus earlier this summer, but looks to be returning instead to the team from where he arrived at Chelsea three years ago. Castillo does have three more years left on his Chelsea contract, through the end of the 2021-22 season.
The report claims that Castillo was already in Amsterdam yesterday to begin his medical and get all the official paperwork sorted out (so he won’t play in today’s PL2 match for the Chelsea U23s). That should give the teams plenty of time to get the deal done before the transfer window deadline on Monday.

Incidentally, Ajax and Chelsea were just drawn together in the Champions League group stages, and will face each other in a senior competitive match for the first time ever (we had met in youth games before).
