AC Milan ‘not ruling out’ last-minute return for Bakayoko — report

Hmmm

Tiémoué Bakayoko has been linked with a return to AS Monaco in recent weeks, but the return he might be making is to AC Milan instead.

According to Tuttosport (via Football Italia), the Chelsea midfielder who evidently continues to train with the team for now, could be in line for a shock return to AC Milan before the transfer window slams shut on September 2. The extra wrinkle is that Bakayoko could be replacing Franck Kessié at the Rossoneri, if he does indeed move to Monaco as his and the team’s supposed preference (instead of Bakayoko). Nothing like a bit of transfer dominoes in the final few days!

Bakayoko’s time at AC Milan last season was largely successful, though it began and ended less than ideally. Since then, Milan have changed both their sporting director (Leonardo, now at PSG) and their head coach (Gennaro Gattuso replaced by Marco Giampaolo, who’s a bit of a Sarri-head), but apparently retain interest in Bakayoko.

Either way, whether at Monaco or at Milan, Bakayoko needs his future sorted and sorted soon.
