Paris Saint-Germain back on the Bakayoko menu?

PSG still monitoring the situation

According to a report from the London Evening Standard, Paris Saint-Germain are still monitoring Chelsea midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko this summer.

The road back to Paris for the kid from the 14th Arrondissement appeared to be blocked once PSG moved to get Everton’s Idrissa Gueye to shore up their midfield. Before that, Bakayoko had made public his willingness to return to his home city; with the team returning his interest in kind.

These links were made stronger once former AC Milan football director Leonardo made his way back to Parc des Princes this summer. He was reportedly one of the people who vouched for Bakayoko during his season-long loan deal in Italy last season after all.

Now it appears that the PSG move is not really dead, certainly at least as a negotiating tactic, and especially now that Chelsea and AS Monaco have run into some issues on the financial aspect of a potential Bakayoko deal.

In the meantime, Bakayoko will keep on "pushing" for his exit from Stamford Bridge. It seems likely that either way, he'll be making his way back to France this summer.

But in Silly Season, you can never be certain.
