According to French newspaper L’Equipe yesterday (via Sport Witness), representatives of Chelsea midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko and officials from his former club, AS Monaco, are set to meet today to discuss his potential return (on loan?) this summer.
With Frank Lampard hinting in his press conference today that Bakayoko, like Zappacosta, could be on his way out of the club before the European transfer deadline on September 2, there should be plenty of motivation to figure something out.
I asked Frank Lampard about Tiemoue Bakayoko and Davide Zappacosta's futures. He says that both have trained really well, but that there could be something with the European window still open. "The best decision will be made for the player and club." #CFC

Reports earlier this week have made it pretty clear that Monaco are the only club with significant interest in Bakayoko at the moment, but the midfielder is apparently waiting to see if offers from other clubs who could also offer Champions League football will materialize ... as unlikely as that may be.
Monaco of course aren’t too keen to be kept waiting, thus the supposed meeting today. Hopefully something beneficial to all parties can be worked out soon.
