Official: Bristol City sign Kasey Palmer from Chelsea on cut-rate deal

Good luck, Kasey!

After spending all but the last two friendlies, against Reading and RB Salzburg, with the first-team this preseason, young Chelsea attacking midfielder Kasey Palmer has joined Bristol City today.

The 22-year-old Academy graduate, who had arrived from Charlton Athletic six years ago, reportedly moves on for just £3.5m.

There had been some speculation that Palmer would leave only on loan, but it appears he was done with that lifestyle after spending three years in the Chelsea Loan Army.

Palmer split time between Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City last season, making 17 appearances for each while scoring a total of 5 goals. Bristol City had been hoping to make a play for him, just as they did for Jay Dasilva and Tomáš Kalas, but Palmer’s travels with the Chelsea first-team appeared to have scared them off. But they got it done in the end, with Palmer signing a four-year contract.

Good luck, Kasey!
