Everton and Chelsea could be set to continue the relationship built on the backs of loans for Romelu Lukaku, Christian Atsu, and most recently, Kurt Zouma, with the Toffees seeking a replacement for PSG-bound Idrissa Gana Gueye.

RMC Sports are reporting that Tiemoué Bakayoko has emerged as one of the possible options for the Merseyside club, alongside Jean-Philippe Gbamin of Mainz. Incidentally, PSG themselves had been linked with Bakayoko before opting for Gueye instead.

After Bakayoko failed to secure a permanent move to AC Milan, where he played on loan last season, it looked like he might be in with another chance at Chelsea this summer. But according to The Telegraph, Lampard has been left “unimpressed” with the 24-year-old’s preseason performances, and considering the squad’s excess number of midfielders and non-homegrown players, Chelsea could very well be shopping the midfield around.

So far, takers seem to be proving hard to find. Maybe Everton could do us a favor, even if we aren’t willing to let them take Zouma again?
