Chelsea center back Matt Miazga is set to rejoin Reading FC after reportedly passing his medical on Monday. The American international spent the second half of last season with the Royals already (alongside Lewis Baker), and will now apparently return for the full season.
Understand Miazga to #readingfc is a done deal. Season long loan. Medical passed earlier today

Miazga’s impressive Reading spell last year came on the heels of a disappointing, brief, and controversial spell at Nantes, where he started strongly but fell out of favor after a switch of managers. Prior to that, the 24-year-old spent two seasons at Vitesse, where he also became a key player in central defense.
After representing the USA at the Gold Cup alongside Christian Pulisic this summer, Miazga had returned to Chelsea to sort out his next move. He was briefly linked with Fiorentina, but that seemed little more than idle, and outrageous speculation, especially considering the rumored £20m transfer fee.
With three years left on his Chelsea contract, a loan move is not a surprising outcome. It remains to be seen whether it would include a buy-option, though given Reading’s financial situation, it’s unlikely.
