The past few years has seen European heavyweights like Barcelona, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain lodge several bids for Willian, only for Chelsea to reportedly reject them all, including last week’s pair of £35million bids from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
Looks like that trend is set to continue with UOL Esporte reporting that Willian himself has rejected a huge offer along with several perks to move to Chinese Super League club, Shanghai Shenhua this summer — the same club where Didier Drogba once plied his trade for a year right after winning the Champions League!

The report claims that Shanghai Shengua put up a transfer bid worth around €20 million, in addition to offering Willian himself €12 million per year in wages, plus additional bonus clauses for goals and wins. Additional perks would’ve included a flat, plane tickets, and two car services with drivers.
Shanghai were hoping to complete the transfer after the Copa America, but Willian apparently sees his future in Europe with Chelsea. This bodes well for Chelsea, too, who are looking to secure Willian’s services for at least another year with the two-window transfer ban preventing the club from signing any replacement if Willian were to leave. Hudson-Odoi’s injury and Hazard’s departure makes it a must for the club to keep hold of Willian for next season.
As it stands, Willian and Chelsea are set for a seventh season together.
