Eden Hazard is leaving on a high note.
In the on-pitch interview after the final whistle in Baku, he essentially confirmed what we’ve known for some time. This is goodbye.
“Yes, I think it’s goodbye. But in football you never know.
“My dream was to play in the Premier League. I did this for seven years, at one of the biggest clubs in the world. So now it’s maybe time for a different challenge.”

Earlier in the interview, Hazard also confirmed that he already made his decision, and now it’s just up to Real Madrid and Chelsea to hash out the details. Chelsea are reportedly holding out for the full £130m asking price.
“I don’t know yet. It will be decided in the next couple days.
“I told [them] my decision already, two weeks ago. Now it depends on both clubs, so I’m just waiting, like you’re waiting and the fans are waiting. So we’ll know in a couple of days.”

Thanks for everything, Eden, including the two goals and one assist today.
At the end of his interview with beIN Sports, Hazard also had a little message for his Chelsea fans, his Chelsea “family”.
“I love them (the fans). They are part of my family. I will always support Chelsea. [...] Thank you for these seven years.”
