According to Dutch newspaper De Limburger, MVV youngster Xavier Mbuyamba, supposedly wanted by several top teams in Europe, is currently on trial at Chelsea.

The 17-year-old made his debut as a professional for the second division club in November last year, and has since then collected 11 appearances at the league level with them. He played either as a centre-back or as a right-back during his spell with MVV.
As per De Limburger’s report, he is now training with Chelsea’s team. And MVV head coach Ron Elsen has already accepted that unless Mbuyamba fails to impress during his trial at Cobham, there is no way MVV can retain him.
“He has an amateur contract. So he can be taken over in no time. MVV cannot of course compete with a top club like Chelsea.”

Since Mbuyamba will only turn 18 in December, a move to Chelsea would fall under the category of youth transfers, which, ironically, is one thing Chelsea are allowed to do after the FIFA Appeals Committee’s decision earlier this month.
