If (and when?) Eden Hazard leaves Chelsea, he’s going to be remembered as one of the finest players to ever grace the famous Blue shirt. There’s no doubt about that. Whether he leaves this summer, next summer, or with a retirement party in seven years, he’s written himself into the Chelsea history books as a legend of the club.
On Monday, he served a reminder that when he’s on top of his game, there’s no one better in the Premier League. Sorry not sorry, West Ham! The two goals only begin to tell that story.
But the big story around Hazard these days is the Real Madrid transfer, which was something the visiting fans tried to taunt the locals with as well. But in his post-match interview, Hazard responded with his well-rehearsed “we’ll see” line, but also by denying that he’s off to Madrid already.
“No, they are wrong. Now I’m just focused with Chelsea until the end of the season. Just want to finish top four, Europa League. We still have a lot to do, and then we’ll see.”

That all may be a technicality — we won’t know either way until the end of the season — but it’s one I’m going to cling to until the ink dries on his Real Madrid contract.
