Gonzalo Higuaín came to Chelsea in January to get his career back on track and perhaps even find a new permanent home, but he seems quite likely to leave both of those quests unfulfilled.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness) reports not for the first time, Higuaín has failed to impress at Chelsea, just as he had at AC Milan in the first half of the season, and thus the Blues are not expected to pick either the loan extension or the purchase option — even if the transfer ban is suspended for the summer.
And that’s a big problem for Juventus, who are stuck with the player’s massive wages. They’ve spent the last year, if not more, trying to offload him, but it would appear that he’s far from worth the money. Juve don’t want him back, but good luck to them in trying to find any team who would be willing to take those wages on for what little he offers in return.
