Callum Hudson-Odoi said all the right things about his future after playing the full 90 in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Saturday — staying patient, staying humble, working hard, taking advantage of opportunities, etc — but if Sky Sports in Germany are to be believe, that’s all just smokescreen for his real intentions.
The 18-year-old has apparently “personally” informed Chelsea that he wants to leave in January. Chelsea then personally told him to hold his horses. Or some such.
Sky sources: Callum Hudson-Odoi informed Chelsea personally that he wants to leave in January. The Blues will try "everything" to keep him though in the next days #TransferUpdate #SkyTransfer

So now we play the game of trustworthiness. Do we believe Callum himself in his easily digestible, totally noncontroversial post-match quotes? Do we believe this random Sky Sports reporter and his completely non-transparent “sources”? Do we believe the narrative and concede defeat or do we keep hope that cooler heads will prevail and Callum’s slightly increased playing time will help us reach an amicable conclusion (i.e. a new contract and the realization of Chelsea’s “ideal plan”)?
Anything’s possible at this point.
