Chelsea built up Maurizio Sarri’s pre-match press conference earlier today as unmissable — “you won’t want to miss this”, announced the tweet — though as it turned out, it was fairly missable after all.
Sarri did confirm that Gonzalo Higuain is on his way, though he couldn’t provide any specific details. He did confirm that getting the striker in before the noon deadline in order to face Spurs tomorrow was “impossible” — the press conference took place one hour after said deadline, so presumably Sarri would’ve known if the striker had been registered with the Football League by then.

Higuain should thus be ready for the weekend’s FA Cup match against Sheffield Wednesday, which should provide an ideal debut occasion ... and maybe even a debut goal?
More interestingly, Sarri spoke openly about his expectations for the 31-year-old, whom he called a natural winner and built him up as someone giving the squad that bit of boost not only in terms of goals, but mentality as well.
Sarri on Higuain mental fragility: "He wants to win all the time, in every situation. In five years it only happened twice that he lost his temper [got sent off]... in terms of failure, I wouldn't call it failure. He had some problems" #cfc

Sarri did acknowledge that the former Juventus and Napoli striker had run into some difficulties at Milan, though he put that down to the quality of the Milan squad (especially when compared with Juventus). Sarri also acknowledged that Higuain’s arrival shows good faith from the club in his management, and hopefully that leads to a happy future for us all.
Sarri on what Higuain means for his future: "I hope [he is integral]. I think the club agree with me when I told them my opinion about the team. January market is very difficult, especially for a striker, so I think the club is working very well" #cfc

Good vibes only. So say we all.
