AS Monaco are set to complete the loan signing of Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, as confirmed by club Vice-president and CEO Vadim Vasilyev following Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Marseille, which was also the debut of new signing Cesc Fàbregas.
Monaco’s Vadim Vasilyev has confirmed that Michy Batshuayi will join Monaco on loan. Some papers still to be signed off before it’s official, but deal is virtually done. #cfc https://t.co/C3GFal57Bo

The deal is apparently just a half-season loan without an option to make the move permanent. All that’s missing is a final few dots on i’s and crosses on t’s.
Batshuayi is now on the verge of joining Monaco on loan. Just waiting on Chelsea to sign it off which he is hopeful they will #cfc

The move to the South of France, back to Ligue 1 where his goals had most of Europe vying for his services back in 2016, should hopefully provide Michy with the change of scenery he needs to show that his last few months at Valencia have been nothing more than an unfortunate career blip. After 19 goals for Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund combined last season, the 3 in 23 appearances is a shocking return from the Batsman.
Fortunately, his social media game is still on point.
