Barcelona, Chelsea in most hilarious £50m part-exchange bid for Willian rumor

LOL

Barcelona are back in for Chelsea attacker Willian, and with a vengeance, if the Daily Mail are to be believed ... which, they really shouldn’t be because this is absolutely, unbelievably hilarious; it’s not quite Torres-to-Barcelona levels, but it’s close.

As per the tabloid dart board, Barca are “readying” an offer worth £50 million, which includes a £50 million fee hefty amount of cash (though significantly less than the scarcely believable £65 million bid they supposedly made back in the summer) and the player they then acquired instead of Willian, Malcom — who is, just like Willian, a product of Corinthians’ youth ranks. But the 21-year-old has failed to impress and certainly has not lived up to the £38 million paid for Bordeaux and could thus already be surplus to requirements.

Malcom does have plenty of potential, and it would be downright amazing if Barcelona compounded their mistake of spending too much too soon on him by spending even more on a 30-year-old Willian who will be out of contract in 18 months. But Silly Season doesn’t ask common sense questions.

If Barcelona were to offer £50 million for Willian, Chelsea should be biting their hand off (just as we should’ve done so in the summer). If Barcelona were to offer £50 any million and Malcom to boot, we should bite the other hand off, too.

The idea that Chelsea could end up with a refreshed attacking quartet of Hazard, Pulisic, Hudson-Odoi, and Malcom for a net spend of less than £10 million is too good to be true even for FIFA, let alone real life.
