Pen, meet paper

PSG’s long-standing interest in N’Golo Kanté has been widely reported over the past several months, mostly in the French media. Kanté’s long-standing disinterest in leaving Chelsea has been reported almost as widely as well, mostly in the English media. It looks like that second side of the narrative is winning as L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) are now reporting the same as well.

But wait, there is more!

Not only is Kanté set to stay at Chelsea, he also wants to sign a contract extension!

While Kanté does have three years left on his current deal, recent reports have revealed that he could be in-line for a Chelsea record £290k per week extension (at least until Hazard signs his £300k extension). Hopefully that “could” morphs into a “would” and then a “done” in both cases.

L’Equipe’s report does maintain that PSG retain their “dreams” of Kanté — who wouldn’t this adorable man in their team, after all?! — with sporting director Antero Henrique working hard at every turn to try to make that happen. But neither Chelsea nor Kanté himself are interested in his overtures.

Long may that continue!
