Second Serie A club joins Torino in Ola Aina pursuit

The 21-year-old spent last season at Hull City on his first ever loan assignment

Newly promoted Frosinone Calcio have joined the ever-growing list of hopefuls for Ola Aina’s loan-signature for the upcoming season.

They are the second Serie A side in just as many days to feature in the Aina rumors, after Torino FC, managed these days by wing-backs aficionado Walter Mazzarri, popped up in midweek.

Di Marzio’s report claims that Frosinone, who are set to embark on a top flight season for just the second time in their history, have “made contact” with Aina but the Chelsea youngster continues to mull over all his options and he’s yet to say “yes” to anyone. In addition to the two Italian sides, Derby County, QPR, and West Brom are also said to be interested, while Dutch champions PSV have gotten a mention or two as well.

Given that Aina had himself a pretty good season at Hull City last year, where he featured in just about every game, interest in him from similar level (Championship, Eredivisie) is unsurprising. So perhaps a loan to Serie A would be the best solution and challenge then?

While the Premier League transfer window is now closed, Chelsea can still sell or send players on loan to leagues with active transfer windows — and Ola is just one of several names who need their futures sorted. The Serie A has another week to go in their window and the EFL (i.e. divisions 2-4 in England) are allowing loans through the end of the month.
