Lost amid the Sarri, Jorginho, and Hazard drama was this little nugget from trusty ol’e Matt Law, who apparently asked around in the wake of the latest random N’Golo Kanté exit rumor — you know, the hilarious one that includes Andre Gomes in return — and got an “instant” reply that should make us all pretty happy, methinks.
I’ve just asked someone who would definitely know a thing or two about this and the instant reply was “no truth” https://t.co/EraIvSdYWr

Presumably the “no truth” relates to any and all Kanté exit rumors, rather than just Barcelona specifically or even just this Andre Gomes part-exchange nonsense. It’s not the first time we hear this, but it’s good to hear anyway. Kanté is far too important for Chelsea to simply let go at first, second, hundredth time of asking.
In fact, with new arrival Jorginho in place, we can look forward to what should be, at least in theory, a very strong three-man midfield (with the role of the third player up for grabs — Cesc? RLC? Barkley? Mount??).
Fortunately, the only realy Kanté drama we have to worry about this summer is whether he, Olivier Giroud, and the rest of France can complete the job and win the World Cup in today’s final against Croatia!
