Mario Pasalic, originally acquired from Croatian outfit Hajduk Split in 2014, could be set for his last loan spell as a Chelsea player as various reports from Italy, such as the one from Transfer Oracle Gianluca Di Marzio, claim that the midfielder will be joining the second most annoying club in Italy, Fiorentina. (Many of us still remember all the 2.5-year-old Salah-drama with La Viola from a few years ago, which resulted in legal challenges and other such shenanigans.)

Pasalic has had four loan spells since joining Chelsea, and has been quite decent during each of them. His last destination was Spartak Moscow, for whom he played 32 times in all competitions and scored 5 goals, but they still passed on their buy-option. Beforehand, the 23-year-old had stints with AC Milan, Monaco, and Elche.
Just as Spartak, Fiorentina will have the option to acquire the player outright at the end of his loan, according to Wannabe Transfer Oracle Alfredo Pedullà. How much Chelsea would get for him isn’t mentioned however.

While a straight-up sale might make more sense for Chelsea and Pasalic, the loan-to-buy arrangement is very common in the Serie A.
In any case, Pasalic could be a solid player for Fiorentina and Chelsea might even get a few financial rewards in the end as well.
