The experience in transfer tribunals fee can be a bit of a mixed bag, with at least one team likely to walk away disappointed. For example, a tribunal set Ethan Ampadu’s fee at £2.5 million last year, payable by Chelsea to Exeter City. Problem was for the League Two outfit that they had rejected Chelsea's own £3 million offer in hopes of a larger fee trough the tribunal.
Oops.
Perhaps to avoid a similar fate, Chelsea and Liverpool had recently returned to the negotiating table regarding the transfer fee for academy striker Dominic Solanke, who joined the Reds last summer after letting his Chelsea contract expire. Since he was (and still is) under 24, Chelsea were due a transfer fee. Twelve months later, that fee has been agreed, thus avoiding the tribunal process altogether.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Chelsea wanted £10 million for Solanke with Liverpool willing to give only £3 million. The fee agreed has not been made public, as it is custom with English clubs. But it is fair to assume it is somewhere in between those two amounts.
The 20-year-old had a decent first season on Merseyside, making 27 appearances in all competitions (6 starts) and scoring 1 goal.
