Sarri himself joins Chelsea negotiations in London — report

Is this ready to be over?

Naples-based Radio Kiss Kiss is often said to be Napoli’s “official radio station”, so assuming that’s true, them reporting that Maurizio Sarri has finally landed in London to join the negotiations at Chelsea could certainly mean that the end of this saga is nigh after days of endless speculation. Radio Kiss Kiss are not infallible however.

The meetings between Chelsea and Sarri’s entourage (minus Sarri himself) have been ongoing since yesterday, according to multiple reports. Yesterday’s “marathon” session for example solidified Chelsea’s intentions, with the club ready to pay the release clause (Sarri has not been sacked at Napoli, so he’s still under contract there) and start negotiating personal terms with the new head coach. Sarri himself joining the fray today fits well within that reported sequence of events

That said, if there is one thing we learned about Silly Season, it’s that you cannot trust any report implicitly unless it’s an official confirmation.
