Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton in pursuit of Hamburg youngster Josha Vagnoman — report

According to ESPN, Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton have joined the pursuit of Hamburg defender Josha Vagnoman. He is also subject of interest from some of Germany’s biggest clubs such as Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.

The 17-year-old made his professional debut this season with a 20-minute cameo in a 6-0 loss by Hamburg to Bayern Munich on March 10th. Although he featured as a right-back in that occasion, most of his appearances in Hamburg’s U19 squad were as a left-back.

He was also part of the group selected to defend Germany in the U17 World Cup last year, playing every game of the competition for the team until the quarterfinals, when his side were eliminated by Brazil.

From this account, it is fair to say that Vagnoman would be at most another name to join the loan army upon his arrival. He has not had a chance to impress with the pros although ESPN’s report claim he is hailed as one of the best prospects in the country. Which should be enough to make a good impression amidst our youth ranks, just so he can then take his talents and prove his worth beyond Cobham.
