Richarlison joined Watford for a mere £11.2 million from Fluminense in the summer, and wasted no time in making an impact in the Premier League. But after 5 goals and 3 assists in his first 13 league games, things went awry for player and club, resulting in the dismissal of manager Marco Silva on January 21st and an angry public response from the player who has not scored since November 19th.

But Richarlison’s decline in performance could also be a result of not having had a proper pre-season since the beginning of last year, something which also happened with Oscar when he joined Chelsea from Internacional back in summer 2012, also at age 20.
Judging by rumors, most teams aren’t too concerned about Richarlison’s future prospects either. According to Sky Sports, the latest to join the host of teams keen on Richarlison are Manchester United and Everton, with Chelsea, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, and probably others, too, already in the mix.
Watford’s demands remain the same: at least £40 million, although this could very well go higher in a bidding war. Richarlison is a talented player who would fit the bill (age, talent, potential) for Chelsea, who need to stay in the mix and consider a proper bid for him in the summer.
